Clan Museum online event, Sept 24, 2022 - Lord Lyon

The Clan Museum is hosting an event within its History and Heritage Series at 19.00 BST, 24 September 2022, on Zoom:

Roderick Macpherson, Unicorn Pursuivant - “1672-2022: the 350th Anniversary of the Lyon Court Controversy over Cluny’s Coat of Arms”.

The controversy focused on Duncan Macpherson of Cluny (16th Cluny) registering his arms as Chief of the Clan Chattan, as well as the Clan Macpherson, with the Lyon Court something neither the Chief of the Clan Macintosh nor some of Cluny’s own clansmen found desirable.

Roderick Macpherson is an Herald of the Lyon Court, and as such an expert on all things heraldic.

Tickets for the event can be booked here.

2021 Annual/Joint Gathering cancellation

Greetings Cousins,

After speaking with the US Branch Chairman R.T. McPherson, it has been agreed, out of utmost concern for our members, that our Joint Canadian/US Gathering will be canceled for this cycle.

The pattern of a 5-year joint Canadian/US AGM will pick back up in 2025 with the U.S. hosting.

Many thanks go out to the 2020/2021 Joint Planning team – Graham and Debby Gillespie from the US branch and Janet McCredie, Ewan Macpherson and Ed Smith from the Canadian branch for their hard work.

Our 2021 Canadian AGM will be taking place in a virtual format on Saturday September 25, 2021 at 10:00 am. An invitation will be emailed out with more details.

Stay safe everyone,
Denise Lagundzin
Chairman
Canadian Branch, Clan Macpherson Association

2020 Annual General Meeting

Our 2020 joint Canadian/US gathering sadly had to be cancelled due to Covid-19, but our Canadian Branch Annual General Meeting for 2020 was held virtually on September 27th, and included the election of our new Branch Chairman, Denise Lagundzin. Many thanks to our outgoing Chairman, Ed Smith, for his hard work and dedication to the Association throughout his term as Chairman. The updated list of office-holders may be found on our Branch Council page.
