Our Chairman, John L Macpherson and wife Gwen led a commemoration to Macpherson ancestors who sacrificed their lives for this county in the first World War. John L and Gwen kindly donated a Lone Pine which has been planted in the memorial gardens in Bowral. February 2019

17th February - National Multi Cultural Festival, Canberra City ACT. CLAN MACPHERSON TENT. More than 200,000 people flock to the heart of the capital to enjoy and participate in the annual event, involving more than 350 community groups, up to 70 diplomatic missions and dozens of national and local businesses. There's food from every corner of the world with over 300 stalls, live music and dancing happening on six stages. Info:

17th February - Richmond Highland Gathering, Richmond, TAS. St Andrew Society of Hobart will again be holding its annual Highland Gathering on the Village Green, with Pipe Band displays from across Tasmania. Scottish dancing and stalls. Info: Di Cornish 0408 528 658.

March 2019

2nd March - Liverpool Plains Military Tattoo, Quirindi, NSW. The event aims to showcase military bands in both a competition and exhibition format and pays homage to the Edinburgh Military Tattoo at Longfield Oval Sporting Precinct, Henry Street. Info:

2nd March - Scots Day Out, Bendigo, VIC. CLAN MACPHERSON TENT. Scots Day Out will be a day filled with fun, tartan, entertainment and events and it's free at Rosalind Park. Info:

17th March - Geelong Highland Gathering. CLAN MACPHERSON TENT. Victoria's largest and best Highland Gathering, presented by the Geelong Highland Gathering Association. This will be held at Goldsworthy Reserve, Goldsworthy Rd Corio. Events include the 2019 South Pacific Heavy Games Championships. For more information visit

2nd - 5th May - Australian Celtic Festival at Glen Innes, NSW. Celebrating Celtic culture amongst the Australian Standing Stones with music, a street parade, kirking of the Tartan, massed pipe bands, buskers, workshops, market stalls and Celtic foods. Info:
